Even more than my new canner, I love this jar lifter! No more tongs and potential slippage and broken jars and hot liquid on my legs (never happened!) because this jar lifter is fool proof, accident proof. Just dip down into the boiling hot water with this gripper and grab a jar, take it to its settling place, then get the next jar. What more is there to say? Oh yes, I love my jar lifter!

I used just regular ol' tongs the first few times I canned marmalades and jams, and it was always torturous dealing with the boiling water and hot jars. Finally I splurged and bought this jar lifter. It has removed so much tension from the process of canning for me. Definitely a must have. Fits most jar sizes easily and effectively.

I was fueled by anger and blinded by rage when my Ball jar lifter's handles just fell off before I even had a chance to use them. There I stood, trying to break the failed device when it occurred to me, buy the Norpro jar lifter because they make quality canning tools. I think these are the bee's knees. You should buy them instead of burning your hands.

I've only used this for half pint jars, but I can't see why it wouldn't work for all sizes. They are nice and sturdy and did the job for me. I really like the comfortable handles. The material on the part of the lifter that grabs the jars kept my jars from slipping, it just held right on without me having to press hard (of course these were half pints). I wouldn't want to be without this lifter for canning.

Sturdy and useful. If you are canning without one of these, do yourself a favor and just get one. It makes the canning process much safer! You can pull your jars out of the boiling water and move them across the kitchen easily. It removes the risk of getting burned or dropping a jar full of boiling hot jam to shatter on the floor.
