Works well until you get it even slightly dampAug 08, 2010 My title says it: this item works very well until you get so much as a drop or two of water on it. It will then cease to work at all. Casual or occasional cooks will probably find this an excellent timer. But if you have an active kitchen, with one or more people cooking at once, and several things being made at once, you will probably find, as I have, that it is impossible to keep the timer absolutely bone-dry. I've gone through three of these. They work well for a time, and then they stop working. Personally, I recommend an old-fashioned mechanical timer.
Perfect TimerAug 06, 2010 This timer was exactly what I was looking for, and it works wonderfully. Easy to set, easy to see and hear, and easy to reset. Plus, I love the fact that you can use it on your counter or attach it to the fridge with its magnetized back. The numbers are large and easy to see, and the audio alert is the perfect volume. This timer has everything you need; if I were an inventor this is what I would have wanted to invent as a timer.
Digital TimerJul 27, 2010 This is a nice little timer with easy-to-read big numbers. I like having a timer that counts up as well as down. I would have given it 5 stars if there was a way to adjust the volume when the timer goes off.
Xtra Lrg Digital TimerJul 27, 2010 This is a great timer. I can see it across the room. It counts off time spent and counts down time. Good for the kitchen and out at the grill.

Sometimes 100 minutes just isn't enoughJul 17, 2010 This is a basic one-channel timer that can count up or count down, but I has a few problems.
Pros
1. Large digits for those with poor vision.
2. Simple.
3. A built in magnet, and fold-down stand and eye allow timer to rest, hang, or adhere to many locations.
Cons
1. Only 99 minute and 59 second capability, which is not always enough...what about that 3 hr. roast or 2 hr. dough rest?
2. Button location (not quite on the front--a bit on the curved edge of the bottom side of the timer) makes it difficult to program the time without the timer sliding around on the counter or whatever surface to which it is attached. If you like to pick up the timer and plug in the time, this is not a problem.
3. The magnet is weak--a common problem with inexpensive timers.
Bottom line: It's OK, but I'm going to look for a timer with higher capacity, smaller numbers (they are really big), and a different geometry (buttons on the front, not the edge) that allows addition of time without sliding around.
