Great for grillingApr 18, 2011

We have one of these which we bought at a high end Viking Cooking School store, have had it for about four years and it works right every time. In searching for a gift for our daughter, we realized this one was on there so we ordered it; no need to search further.

AN AVERAGE DIGITAL THERMOMETERMay 30, 2011
By BRITTGYPSY I BOUGHT THIS PRIMARILY BECAUSE IT WAS THE LONGEST DIGITAL THERMOMETER THAT I COULD FIND. IT HAS SOME NICE FEATURES (LIKE STORING SETTINGS) THAT I'LL PROBABLY NEVER USE. MY MAIN ISSUE IS THAT IT READS SLOWLY, TAKING A LONG TIME TO GET TO THE TEMPERATURE OF THE MEAT. I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER DIGITALS TOO. SOMETIMES IT IS SO SLOW THAT YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY PASSED YOUR CHOSEN TEMPERATURE. IF THERE IS A WAY TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS WITH DIGITAL THERMOMETERS IN GENERAL I HAVEN'T FOUND IT YET AND I'LL CONTINUE TO RELY ON TIMING MY MEAT BY SO MANY MINUTES A SIDE ON A PARTICULAR HEAT.

The fork is quite sturdy and seems to be quite accurate. The price is reasonable for a quality product. Would recommend this product.
